Schneider Electric is a global industrial technology leader, providing world-class expertise in electrification, automation, and digitization for smart industries. With over 40% of its workforce comprised of women, Schneider Electric champions and actively promotes gender equality and inclusivity, earning a place on the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index for several consecutive years.
Project Goals
— Understand why female STEM graduates don't pursue careers in technical fields.
— Showcase women's success in technical industries and roles.
— Create and distribute content that empowers women in their career development.
—Position Schneider Electric as an employer of choice by showcasing its dedication to gender equality and the advancement of women in technology.
What We Did
1. Professional Sociological Survey
To understand why female STEM graduates often don't pursue careers in tech companies, we commissioned a professional research agency to conduct an online survey. We interviewed 200 female students from relevant universities and programs to identify the barriers and challenges they face.
This provided us with:
— Representative data: Insights from a statistically significant sample size.
— Actionable insights: Data we could analyze to understand the underlying issues.
— Real-life stories: Personal narratives that brought the challenges to life.
This research revealed the key obstacles women encounter, forming the foundation for the entire project.

2. Expert HR Recommendations
We collaborated with Schneider Electric to select five expert women in technical HR who have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this field. They analyzed the survey findings and provided professional advice to empower women in building successful tech careers.
3. Landing Page: Copywriting, Design, and Development
We created an inspiring landing page titled "How to Succeed as a Woman in Tech." This resource serves as a comprehensive guide for women who are considering, studying, or already working in technical fields.
The landing page:

— Highlights the advantages: Showcases the benefits of a tech career to attract women to the field.
— Addresses the challenges: Based on the research, we provide detailed insights into the difficulties women face, such as self-doubt, stereotypes, and discrimination.
— Offers expert guidance: Features actionable advice from the HR experts.
4. Landing Page Promotion
To promote the project and drive traffic to the landing page, we utilized a multi-faceted social media campaign. This included:
— Engaging social media posts: We created compelling content to raise awareness and spark interest.
— Interactive AR filter: We developed an augmented reality filter featuring a career horoscope, adding a fun and engaging element to the campaign.
— Personality quiz: A quiz further encouraged interaction and provided personalized results.
Through targeted advertising and these engaging elements, we achieved a reach of over 2.5 million people.
